Toluca is a nice contemporary city as well as an industrial center, situated about 65 kilometres of Mexico City. The traditions, the landscapes and the history are incredible and said much about this destination. Its neoclassical and French architectural style named Toluca as “La Bella”. You can visit several historical sites and museums; you can assist to folkloric and religious festivities such as the Day of Dead held on November; you can do outdoor activities like exploring archeological places, camping and interacting with the nature. Apart from that it counts on markets, zoos, reacreational parks, discos, bars, etc. Restaurants serves exquisite regional dishes such as prickly pear salad, tuza tamales, pit-baked lamb accompanied by an alcoholic beverage called pulque and by desserts like local candies. In October you can degust “calaveritas” a famous candy of chocolate and sugar, at the Alfenique Fair. Nightlife in Toluca is varied. It offers bars and nightclubs and restaurants with terrace and music alive for a romantic dinner. Toluca has many festivities for you to enjoy such as The Festival of Dance that takes place on March and here you can admire regional dances.
